I want you to be happy with your purchase from The Adulting Kit. This Returns & Refunds Policy explains your rights if you change your mind about your purchase or if your book arrives damaged, faulty or not as described.

Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights as a consumer under UK law.

1. Changing your mind

When you purchase The Adulting Kit online, you generally have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your book, without having to give a reason.

If you decide you would like to cancel your purchase, please contact me at theadultingkit@gmail.com within 14 days of receiving your order.

After telling me that you wish to cancel, you should return the book to me within a further 14 days.

The book should be returned in a condition that allows it to be resold. You are allowed to handle the book as you would reasonably be able to in a shop to inspect it. If the book has been used or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, I may be entitled to make a deduction from your refund to reflect any reduction in value. 

 

2. How to request a return

To request a return, please email:

Please include:

• Your name

• Order number

• Date of purchase

• A brief explanation that you wish to return your order

I will then provide you with the information you need to return your book.

Please do not send a return to an address until I have provided the appropriate return details.

 

3. Return postage

If you are returning a book because you have simply changed your mind, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning the item to me.

If the book is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact me before returning it. In these circumstances, I will work with you to resolve the issue in accordance with your legal rights.

 

4. Refunds for cancelled orders

If you cancel your order in accordance with your statutory cancellation rights, I will issue your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned book, or earlier where appropriate.

Your refund will normally include the cost of the standard delivery option you originally paid for. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, I am only required to refund the cost of the standard delivery option. 

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method that you used to place the original order.

 

5. Faulty or damaged books

If your book arrives damaged, faulty or is not as described, please contact me at theadultingkit@gmail.com as soon as reasonably possible.

Please provide:

• Your name

• Order number

• A description of the problem

• Photographs of the damage or fault, where possible

I will assess the issue and work with you to provide an appropriate remedy.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include a replacement, repair where appropriate, price reduction or refund.

Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy. Under UK consumer law, goods must generally be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. 

 

6. Incorrect item

If you receive the wrong book or an item that you did not order, please contact me at theadultingkit@gmail.com as soon as possible.

I will arrange an appropriate solution, which may include providing the correct item or issuing a refund.

 

7. Items lost or damaged during return

If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, I recommend using a tracked postal service and keeping proof of postage.

Responsibility for the returned item remains with you until it reaches me, so please package the book securely.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, damaged or otherwise does not conform to the contract.

 

8. Refunds for orders that have not yet been dispatched

If you contact me to cancel your order before it has been dispatched, I will do my best to cancel the order and issue a refund without requiring you to return the book.

If the order has already been dispatched, you may need to follow the return process described above.

 

9. Statutory rights

This Returns & Refunds Policy does not limit or remove any rights you have under UK consumer protection law.

If a product is faulty, not as described or does not meet the required legal standards, you may have additional rights and remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. 
